Most of my time these days goes into building practical tools for family historians—but I still take on a small number of client research projects each year. The brick walls. The mysteries. The ones I can’t resist.
If you have a project in mind, I’d love to hear about it. You can start with a free 15-minute Zoom conversation, or send me a full and detailed email explaining your project, what you already know, and what you hope to discover. I’ll tell you honestly whether I’m the right person for it and whether I have room in my schedule.
Focused Help
Sometimes you don’t need a large research package. You need targeted help with one problem, one record, or one next step.
- Document Look-up and Retrieval: If you know which record you need but haven’t been able to locate it, I can conduct a focused search and send you the record and source information when it is available.
- Family Focus Hour: We’ll work together by Zoom, phone, or email on a current question, a brick wall, confusing evidence, or the next steps in your research. Sessions are available in 30-minute or one-hour increments.
Larger Research Projects
For anything larger, tell me what you’re trying to solve. If it’s a fit and I have availability, I’ll put together a plan and a quote. I only take on a few of these projects at a time, so the best first step is a Zoom conversation or a detailed email—whichever you prefer.
Projects may include Southern or Midwestern research, a difficult family line, conflicting evidence, or a focused DNA question. Each project is considered individually rather than placed into a one-size-fits-all package.

Tell Me About Your Project
Choose the option that feels most comfortable: a free 15-minute Zoom conversation or a full and detailed email. Tell me what you’re working on, what you already know, and what you hope to learn. I’ll let you know whether I can help, what the next step would be, and whether I have room in my schedule.
